With screen printing, only one color can be applied at a time. Therefore, the number of colors on a t-shirt is limited, and each color requires more time, another screen and stencil, and ultimately, more money. That’s why screen printing is a good choice for simple designs with one solid color, and when you’re making many t-shirts of the same design at a time (eg. for a sports team, summer camp, or event)
Foil screen printing is a very popular option to add shimmer to your apparel. It is applied to your garments by first printing your design with a special glue. We then adhere the foil to the glue with our heat press. We recommend not foil screen printing on any part of your design that has very fine detail.
The most popular ink used in the garment printing industry is Plastisol ink. Screen printing plastisol ink is easy to print, does not dry in the screen, is opaque on dark garments, and features great adhesion to most t-shirt, athletic jerseys, hoodies, heat transfers, and most textiles in general.
Soft Hand Base for Plastisol Ink. It is great for those looking for a texture more like water based ink, especially when printed through a finer mesh screen. It is commonly used by screen printers producing high fashion garments, and anyone looking to get a less plastic-y feel to plastisol prints.

Vinyl printing is generally limited to simple text and designs. A single-color print is the norm but we can overlay different colors of vinyl to produce some clever effects.
The artwork is required in a vector format which is produced in a software package such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw; this artwork format produces the design in lines as opposed to pixels as in a jpeg image.
Once the artwork has been cut, we then take away the unwanted vinyl, this process is called weeding and can be very time consuming and delicate if the design has fine detail.
This is why Vinyl is only really good for lettering and simple one-color designs. Once the weeding has been done we are left with the design on its backing paper.
We then transfer that onto the garment, this is done using an industrial heat press.
This allows us to apply pressure and a temperature of 280 degrees and higher. Once this has been applied the backing paper is removed.
Vinyl comes in many different formats, such as metallic, fluorescent, flock and reflective colors. It can be as durable as screen printing – it can be washed without any color loss, so can be a good option for work clothing that needs hot washes.
Some Vinyl is designed to stretch so is a great option for sports clothing including leggings.
Vinyl gives a smooth even finish with crisp edges, but can look like it has been stuck on compared to screen printing which absorbs into the fabric.
